Configure VTP Server and Clients on Cisco switches

Configuring a VTP server will allow you to propagate all VLANS configured on the server to all clients on the same VTP domain.  By default all switches are servers.

Server will be configured with the following requirements:
VTP Domain – cisco
VTP password – cisco
vlans, 10, 20, 30, 40

cisco vtp
cisco vtp

SW1 Server Configuration

SW1-Server(config)#vtp domain cisco
Changing VTP domain name from NULL to cisco
*Oct 2 06:06:31.047: %SW_VLAN-6-VTP_DOMAIN_NAME_CHG: VTP domain name changed to cisco.
SW1-Server(config)#vtp password cisco
SW1-Server(config)#vtp version 2
Setting device VTP password to cisco SW1-Server(config)#vtp mode server Device mode already VTP Server for VLANS. SW1-Server(config)#vlan 10,20,30,40
